Let your reader help you tell your story. Capture their imagination.

Why do pictures and mental images help capture imagination?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but it’s really great when a picture and words work together to convey a message. Sometimes, we need to start with an image. It sets a mood and excites the viewer. It gets them ready for the gift that will be given.

All messages aren’t literal. Many thoughts of humor or concern are delivered through the fantastic landscape created by pictures. Think of Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, or Finding Nemo. The pictures put you into the fantasy, but there is other meaning in those stories too.

With images and descriptions to go hand in hand. Your reader will begin to help you tell your story by taking it further in their own imagination. If you write about a delicate fox balancing on a sheep’s head you can count on your reader to see your story better than if it’s just a stack of clouds.
